Born in Montreal, Laurence began her dancing at the age of 2. After 10 years of training in ballet, jazz and tap, she fell in love with ballroom. Under the training of Meryem Pearson, she became the National Junior Latin and Standard Pro-Am Champion. She also won the title of Canadian 10-dance Pro-Am Champion.

While teaching at Dance Fever Studio in Newton, Laurence competes with her partner Jean-Phillippe Milot. The couple trains with Vibeke Toft, Jean-Marc Genereux, France Mousseau and Meryem Pearson. Their accomplishments include:

• Semi-Finalists at the Embassy Ball (An IDSF part of the Grand Slam featuring the best couples from around the world)

Laurence and Jean-Philippe travel all over the world to compete and perform. The couple performed for an audience of over 40,000 people in the opening ceremonies of the Outgames at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, broadcast live on national television; they have also appeared on the Quebec version of Dancing with the Stars.

Given the couple’s ongoing success on the international ballroom circuit, Laurence is brings the most current knowledge and understanding of the dance world to her teaching at Dance Fever. She loves working with students of all levels, and especially enjoys working with those just starting out. She strives to help each student to achieve his or her individual goals, and – most importantly – be proud of their dancing.
