| USA Dance National DanceSport Championships |

The USA Dance National DanceSport Championships is the leading competition in the United States for amateur competitors. USA Dance is the National Governing Body for DanceSport in the United States and represents the United States before the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). USA Dance selects the DanceSport athletes to represent the United States in the IDSF World DanceSport Championships and the World Games, and helps to finance their participation at these events. These representatives are chosen based on competition results at the National DanceSport Championships. USA Dance promotes DanceSport as a sport both nationally and internationally, and fosters its inclusion in the Olympic and Pan American Games. USA Dance also organizes and supports programs for the recreational enjoyment of ballroom dancing by all ages, and creates affordable opportunities for the general public to participate in ballroom dancing and DanceSport.
Dancers qualify to compete at the National Championships by competing in one of the many National Qualifying Events held at various times and locations across the country. Competitors may and are encouraged to compete at more that one qualifier. The competition is organized into numerous categories based on age, style of dance, and skill level. Couples may compete in more than one style of dance. These styles include:

In 2008 and 2009, the competition was held in Baltimore, Maryland at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, a AAA rated facility which overlooks the beautiful Inner Harbor area of Baltimore. The competition ran non-stop from Friday morning until late Sunday night. 2009 featured the first Regional Team Match. This was an invitational event, where the best couples from each Region's National Qualifying Event competed for their region.
Of course, Dance Fever Studio was well represented! Especially noteworthy were George Shamis and Ava Donovan, who placed 1st in the Youth Pre-Championship Latin Division, and Sasha Altukov and Oksana Dmytrenko, who place 2nd in the Adult Championship Latin division; Sasha and Oksana were chosen to represent the United States at the World Championships.
