About the Dances

More About the Dances Taught a Dance Fever

In the world of Dancesport (particularly in the US) there are four categories of competitive ballroom dance: International Latin, American Rhythm, International Standard, and American Smooth. At Dance Fever Studio (particularly in the children's classes), we focus primarily on the International styles. Both Latin and Standard consist of five dances each. Read on to learn a bit more about each style.

International Standard

Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep

International Latin

Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive
