Dance Fever Studio began when former Lithuanian champions Emil and Ruta Ioukhnikov started giving ballroom dance lessons in the basement of their Newton home. Having owned their own studio in Israel, the couple had coached many top dance pairs and saw their students become winners and finalists in major European competitions. Now in the United States, they hoped to inspire the same passion and love for dancing in the youth of the area.

The news of these wonderful teachers and their expertise rapidly spread. Soon, children and adults from all over the Greater Boston area were at the door looking to learn. Emil and Ruta's school quickly outgrew the small basement room; within the course of five years, the studio went from occupying one small floor to being one of the largest dancesport studios in North America.

In 2007, Dance Fever opened its new five-ballroom studio on Wells Ave. in Newton, MA. Our Marblehead studio followed a couple years later. New and talented coaches from around the world have joined the studio's teaching staff. Comprised of former champions and some of the top current competitors, our coaches bring vast experience and the most current knowledge from the world of dancesport to Dance Fever. Dance Fever is also host to world class visiting coaches, like Markus Homm, Ksenia Kasper, Eugene Katzevman and Maria Manusova.

While we have been recognized as the largest children's/youth ballroom dance studio in the US, our offerings go far beyond children's classes. We have opportunities for every age group and every level- whether you're an adult looking for a fun way to get fit, an engaged couple looking for help on your wedding dance, or just someone looking to gain some confidence and some dance skills, we encourage you to join us at Dance Fever Studio.
